Please be aware that there are spam emails going around supposedly representing the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE)  informing members of the public that their blood test results show a possibility of cancer and to contact their GP asap.   

NICE is aware of this SPAM email and have issued the following statement on their website:

'NICE is aware that a spam email is being sent to members of the public regarding cancer test results. Please be assured that this email is not from NICE and we are currently investigating its origin'.  'If you have received the email, do not open the attachments'.    'Updates will be made on the NICE website during the day and also via Twitter: @NICEComms'

 

FRAUD

NHS England has been alerted to a recent incident where a patient was contacted by someone claiming to work at Bradford on Avon Health Centre in Wiltshire.  The caller stated that the patient’s prescription was ready for collection and could be delivered if debit / credit card payment details were provided.  The patient was further advised that he needed to pay an additional cost following a change that had been made to the prescription.
